Realizing I would need all the help I could get, I turned to an admissions consultant who was a former Ivy League Director of Admissions. After collecting his fees for an initial consultation, he took one look at my file and during the first 3 minutes of our initial call said:

I felt as though somebody had knocked the wind out of me. For days I thought to myself: "If a former Admissions Director is telling me this...maybe I SHOULD reconsider and be more realistic about what school I can get into."

I'm glad...so glad...that I didn't listen to myself that day.
